In the Stockholm region, Matmissionen runs social grocery stores for people on low incomes. After an eligibility check, members can buy goods at around one-third of the usual price.
What you need to know
- Matmissionen operates in the Stockholm region, with stores including Handen, Kista, Rågsved and Södertälje.
- Members buy goods for around one third of normal retail prices or less.
- Up to SEK 400 per week can be spent at member prices; unused balance does not roll over.
- For salary or a-kassa income, the current threshold is an average below SEK 13,717 per month after tax over the last three months; other benefit categories have different rules.
What to do
- Check the current membership criteria.
- Prepare ID and proof of income or benefits.
- Apply in the Matmissionen app or through member services.
- Once approved, book a shopping slot in the app or through member service.
