Borrow e-books and audiobooks for free in Sweden with Biblio

A practical way to use your local library for digital reading and listening — without another subscription.

What you need

To use Biblio, you need a bibliotekskort (library card) and the login details provided by your library. At Stockholms stadsbibliotek, the library card itself is free.

How Biblio works

  1. Install the Biblio app or use the web version.
  2. Select your library.
  3. Sign in with your library account.
  4. Search for an e-book or e-audiobook.
  5. Choose Låna to borrow it.
  6. Read or listen directly in Biblio.

How many books can you borrow?

At Stockholms stadsbibliotek, as checked on 28 August 2026, you can borrow up to 12 e-books, including e-audiobooks, during a 30-day period. Each loan lasts 28 days.

This is a Stockholm example, not a nationwide Swedish rule. Other municipalities and library systems may use different limits, so always check the rules for your own library.
